The program is a mix of training, workshops, campaign planning, and on-ground organizing that is dedicated to give youth leaders an in-depth understanding of the plastics issue, and experience in coordinating with other youth leaders in organizing a global campaign. The program ran from October 2023 to March 2024.
This year’s program received over 200 applicants in September 2023, and moved forward with 108 participants who committed to the program. At the end of the program, 50 ambassadors from 19 countries were able to graduate. 30 campaigns were executed revolving around communications and narrative campaigning, corporate campaigning, policy advocacy, zero waste, and plastic-free campuses from all over Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and Canada. These campaigns engaged a total of more than 1800 participants and volunteers on-ground. This year’s youth ambassadors were instrumental in mobilizing for Break Free From Plastic’s peaks this year, including the BFFP Movement March for INC-3 and the INC-4 Youth Campaign.
