Since 2022, more than 170 countries have been negotiating the world’s first-ever global plastics pollution treaty. The fifth and last scheduled round of negotiations will take place from 25 November to 1 December 2024 in Busan, Republic of Korea.
What began as a seemingly benevolent solution to harness growing demand in emerging economies, sachets were marketed as a means to cater to the needs of low-income consumers but later morphed into a widespread environmental crisis.
